AI answer check reads your Google Search Console data and finds the long, question-like searches your pages show for: “how do I…”, “what is…”, “best … for …”. For each one it checks the page Google shows: does a section answer the question in its first one or two sentences, under a clear heading? That is the passage AI search (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews) can quote. It also checks whether the crawlers behind AI search can read your site.

What you get
- Up to 100 pages, most question impressions first, each with up to 5 of its question searches from the last 28 days.
- For each question: answered, partly or not answered, and the heading it sits under.
- The exact next step: add a 2-sentence answer under a heading the page already has, or add a new H2 that asks the question. When the page already states the answer somewhere, it quotes that sentence to build from. It never makes up facts.
- Which AI crawlers your robots.txt or firewall blocks, with the exact lines to add to robots.txt, and whether you have an llms.txt file.
- CSV and JSON downloads, and “Copy for agent” to hand the fixes to your coding agent.
How it works
- A question search is one with 7 or more words, or one that starts with a word such as how, what, why, can, should or best. It must show your page in the top 20, with 10 or more impressions in 28 days.
- Each question is checked on the page Google shows most for it. The page is read with ianbot, as search engines read it: without running JavaScript.
- An AI model reads each heading and its opening sentences and judges: does this answer the question on its own? Yes, partly or no. A section is only quoted when it answers on its own.
- Pasted text, page titles and searches in another language than the page are left out and counted. A final check then reads every step: a search that is not a real question, or a step that does not fit its page, is left out; a heading a reader would not expect is rewritten in the search’s own words.
- A page whose questions are all answered needs nothing, so it goes straight to Done.
- Crawlers that find pages for AI answers (such as OAI-SearchBot, Claude-SearchBot and PerplexityBot) need access to quote you. Crawlers that only train AI models (GPTBot, ClaudeBot, Google-Extended) are listed too; blocking those is your choice.
- To test your firewall, it asks for your home page once in each AI crawler’s name and compares the answer with ianbot’s.
After you make a change
- Mark a page done when you have added its answers. The tool measures its clicks 28 and 56 days later against the same number of days before.
- Dismiss a page you do not want to work on. It stays out of later runs.
