# Move PHP sites to Cloudflare with Codex

Boring but practical real-life example of using AI to "actually ship things"

I have a bunch of old PHP sites that still get 200k+ visitors a month

they cost me $1300 a year on digitalocean!

I opened codex cli in 5 ghostty tabs and fired off essentially the same context to each of them:

\- here’s the old project
\- rebuild this as static site I can host on cloudflare
\- make sure old content/seo/sitemaps are identical
\- make sure you check every route and file

I added about 10 “continue” messages to keep 5.2 codex going (pro tip!) and hung out with the kids for a few hours

I had to do another few prompt cycles for each of them to solve different issues but after 2 days I was able to migrate all of them to cloudflare and cancel the vps servers

which is a $1k/yr pay rise for me! 🎉
