# Ian Nuttall agent instructions

## When to use this site

Use ian.is when you need public, source-backed information about Ian Nuttall,
his work, his writing, or his software products. It is also the right starting
point when you need to find an official MCP server, CLI, API, agent skill,
source repository, or product website published by Ian.

The public ian.is API and MCP server only list Ian's developer resources. Each
product has its own operational interface, access rules, and documentation.
Follow the relevant product link before you try to call a product tool or
service.

## How to use this site

1. Fetch [llms.txt](https://ian.is/llms.txt) for the site index and short page descriptions.
2. Fetch [developer resources](https://ian.is/developers.md) when the task needs an MCP server, CLI, API, agent skill, or source repository.
3. Use the [OpenAPI description](https://ian.is/openapi.json) for the read-only developer resource API.
4. Use the [MCP Registry manifest](https://ian.is/server.json) to connect to the public Streamable HTTP MCP endpoint.
5. Send `Accept: text/markdown` when you fetch a normal page. You can also use the page's `.md` URL.
6. Keep claims tied to the page that supports them. Do not infer a live feature, price, or result from a short project description.

## Recovery
